Glencoe Skyline Preparation

The first edition of the Glencoe Skyline race was in 2015 and already it has established itself as one of the highlights of the world calendar for extreme mountain running. With the addition of the Ring of Steal skyline, Vertical Kilometre and Ben Nevis Ultra this weekend in September is one of the greatest gatherings of extreme runners in the Uk.

The Glencoe Skyline race covers 55km and 4800m ascent of amazing Scottish mountain terrain. This includes an ascent of Curved ridge, a climb graded Moderate on Buachaille Etive Mor as well as a traverse of the Aonach Eagach ridge, which includes exposed Grade II scrambling.

Obviously not an event to be taken lightly, thorough preparation is essential and knowing the terrain will save stress, time and effort when it comes to race day. At Trail Running Scotland we have the perfect combination of experience to help you prepare for this event. As mountain runners who have competed in a wide variety of events, including the Glencoe Skyline we know the course from a racers perspective. Along with this we are also highly qualified and experienced Mountaineering Instructors with the essential training and experience needed to help you move safely over the terrain, improve your scrambling technique and enjoy a safe event.

There are no set dates for this course as the preparation is always bespoke and individual. Please get in touch to discuss your needs.
